San Francisco Public Library now offers a fully accredited online high school diploma and career certification program through Career Online High School (COHS). COHS is available via the internet, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. San Francisco Public Library is funding a limited number of scholarships available to SFPL card holders who are California residents and 19 years of age or older.
In order to enroll, students must fill out an online self-assessment questionaire which includes a short essay question. After completing the self-assessment, potential students will receive a link via email to access a 2 week prerequisite course.
Those who successfully complete the prerequisite course with 70% or higher within two weeks or less will be invited to an informal in-person interview at the Main Library to discuss eligibility, program requirements, and strategies for success.
If enrolled in COHS through San Francisco Public Library, we will award students a full scholarship. Upon scholarship award, students must request transcripts from any accredited high school previously attended. Career Online High School will then determine whether any previously completed coursework will apply to COHS credits. Click here for a transcript request form.
You will earn an accredited career certificate as you work toward your high school diploma.
Students will choose a major from one of the following high-growth, high-demand career fields:
